About Me

My name is Julia and I’m a painter living in the north western outskirts of Melbourne. I’ve always loved painting as a source of pleasure and relaxation.

After a busy working life in television through my 20s and early 30s, it was taking time off with my first baby back in 2012, that prompted me to set up an Etsy store. My life has since happily taken a creative path, and Summer Svenson has become an evolving passion project (alongside raising two young kids).

I am currently painting pots and canvas throughout the year, and have been doing a limited run of bespoke baubles at Christmas since 2013.

When not painting, I spend time hanging out with my husband, two kids, and our dog, Ziggy Stardust.
